Welcome to "Your Father's Heart," and a look at ours
"And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." John 17:3
The above verse has been and is the prayer and passion in recent years for Joy and me, our children, and grandchildren. We want to have it be your prayer too. It was the passion of Jesus also in His last recorded prayer on this earth for those closest to Him ...and He extended it to all generations following. All the teaching and preaching on eternal life is now summed up in this "knowing" of the Father and Jesus.
What does it mean to really "know" the Father and Jesus? In the original language the passage "that they may know you," is enlightening and powerful. The word "know" is not about the "doing" of religious activity and just getting it right...it is about intimacy and "being." The "being" of relationship, and the life of love, and love of life, that flows from there. This will leave the simple "doing" of religious activity bankrupt by comparison. This is not about working for Jesus but from a response to Jesus. He is the Vine and I am the branch, and I do not need to produce but simply allow Him to produce His life in and through me.
How I long to see those who are lonely and seeking more in life, finding love and hope in a present and eternal relationship with Jesus. How I desire that those whose lives have been broken will find restoration in this Jesus. Could that not happen anywhere if the body of Christ would experience a renewal of intimacy and power in relationship with Jesus, and a re-kindling of the flame that would result in a revival by the Spirit? I am passionate and desperate for this to happen. Could it be that we might connect and I might touch you or encourage in some personal way? I am about Jesus and therefore I am about people having the flame stirred! Could it be that you would be moved to connect with me for that purpose?

7 Although we could have been a burden as Christ’s apostles, instead we were gentle among you, as a nursing mother nurtures her own children. 8 We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.
